✦ Sketches from High Places (music composition series)
Sketches from High Places Sketches is a practice of finding clarity at elevation. Improvisations drawn from rooftop vantage points where musical ideas become visual notation. An ongoing exploration of the creative state between stability and intensity - that place just below the storm. Not the flying. The gliding. This work invites viewers to recognize and inhabit that same state of balance as a path toward peace and acceptance. You've held on too tight and for too long. It's time to listen and let go.
✦ Vessel (interactive art installation)
Vessel is a fifteen-year immersive work mapping emotional states across the full spectrum of bipolar experience onto sound, color, and physical form. An interactive installation for live musicians, antique boxes, and illuminated glass jars - audiences become co-creators of the soundscape, opening boxes and lifting lids to trigger live musical responses. ✦ Light Organ | Clavier à lumières (sound art installation)
Conceived in 2010 as a teaching tool for a Visual Music course, Kanozik's Light Organ has evolved into a fully realized performance instrument mapping color and sound theory in real time. It has been presented internationally, including the premiere of new works by Kennedy Center Artist-in-Residence Mason Bates, and served as inspiration for the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra's performance of Scriabin's Prometheus. The prototype can be seen in the Netflix documentary The Creative Brain, hosted by neuroscientist David Eagleman. [Available for performance and collaboration]
